80-Year-Old 'Careless Driver' From Princeton Injured In Crash: Police
An 80-year-old Princeton woman was injured and cited for careless driving after causing a two-car crash in Montgomery on Thursday, May 2, authorities said. At 12:52 pm, the woman was driving a 2009 Honda northbound on Route 206 near Applegarth Road when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stuck in traffic, Montgomery police said on Facebook. A Lakewood man will spend several years in prison after admitting to sharing child pornography, authorities said. Matthew Robles, 32, was sentenced on Friday, May 3 to seven years in state prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Monday, May 6. He pleaded guilty on Monday, May 15, 2023, to distribution of child pornography and failure to register as a Megan's Law offender. Driver Charged With DWI After 3-Car Crash In South Jersey: Police
A 38-year-old man from Millville was charged with driving while intoxicated after a three-vehicle crash in Vineland, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 at South Delsea Drive and West Sherman Avenue, according to Vineland police. In addition to DWI, Gibrant Espinosa was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, uninsured motorist, endangering the welfare of a child, and assault by auto, police said. An Essex County man drowned in the ocean at a beach along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Spring Lake police responded to the beachfront near St. Clair Avenue for a swimmer in distress at around 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, the department said in a news release. The first officers at the scene found a man floating face down in the surf and he was pulled out of the water for life-saving measures. Trooper Dies During Training: Officials
A New Jersey State Police trooper has died suddenly, the department said. Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who worked in Troop D at the Moorestown station, died during training, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan said. Bethea was an eight-year NJSP veteran and was a member of the 156th State Police Class. Police Wrestle Loose Pig In Quiet South Jersey Neighborhood
Friday, May 3 wasn't exactly an ordinary day for police in Washington Township. Officers Frank Cicalese and Victor Rossi spent their afternoon wrangling a 200-pound pig who had gotten loose. The guy was found at the Corner of Egg Harbor and County House Road in traffic, "located in the quiet, serene neighborhood of Heatherwood," police said in a social media post. The crash occurred at 5:48 a.m. on Beverly-Rancocas Road in Willingboro, Burlington County, according to New Jersey State Police fatal crash data.
