Drivers can expect temporary delays on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Mount Vernon next month as contracting crews continue a bridge replacement project in the area.
The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert to motorists cautioning that beginning on 11 p.m. on Friday, March 2 through 5 a.m. on Monday, March 5, a portion of the Hutchinson River Parkway between Exit 6 (Interstate 95) and Exit 12 (East Lincoln Avenue) is expected to be closed.
There will be signage posted and flaggers directing drivers toward the detour. Northbound traffic on the parkway will be detoured at the I-95 interchange. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the Cross County Parkway and Bronx River Parkway.
All on-ramps to the parkway south of the construction site at the East 3rd Street overpass will be accessible to southbound traffic. Motorists can expect delays in the area during the construction work.
