Mount Vernon Soccer Tryouts Scheduled

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Tryouts for the Mount Vernon Recreation Football Club soccer team for boys and girls ages 9-14 are from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Hutchinson Field, 657 Garden Ave.

The head coach is Eric Yapi Cielenou, who was formerly with Cameroon's national team and played professional European soccer. Tryouts are for the winter league, which will run from December to February 2015.

Players may try out for U-11 (11 years and younger) or U-14 (14 years and younger). It is free to try out, but there will be team fees for those who make the team. The teams play in the New York East Soccer League.
