Port Authority police arrest woman trying to board plane with 2 guns, ammo, 33 pounds of pot

BEYOND BERGEN: A Canadian woman tried bringing two handguns, 350 rounds of ammunition and 33 pounds of pot concealed in boxes, tubs and cans of everyday household products on a flight to Barbardos, said Port Authority police who arrested her.

Nyesha McPherson tried to conceal the items in her checked baggage at JFK Airport in Queens, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

Police were alerted and turned up: two .40-caliber handguns, 350 rounds of ammunition, four magazines for the guns and 58 bricks of marijuana, he said.

McPherson, who had a Canadian passport, was charged with various illegal drug and weapons possession counts.
