Thomas D. Trochan, 69, Of Beacon

BEACON, N.Y. -- Thomas D. Trochan, a lifelong area resident, died Monday, Jan. 4. He was 69.

A U.S. Army veteran, he was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Fishkill. Trochan was a past lieutenant at Lewis Tompkins Hose Fire Company No. 1 in Beacon.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (Debnan) Trochan; his son, Thomas D. Trochan Jr. and his wife, Maria of Nokesville, Va.; his daughter, Theresa Cory of Beacon; his grandchildren, Savanna Trochan, Gregory, Noah and Ryan Cory; his brother, Stephen “Skip” E. Trochan of Beacon; his sister, Dolores A. Hughes of Beacon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Steven J. and Irene O’Dell Trochan.

Burial with military honors was at St. Joachim Cemetery, in Beacon. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Halvey Funeral Home.
