The planned sidewalk work will create new walkways on the north side of Heatherdell Road between Farm Road and Olympic Lane in the vicinity of the Ardsley schools campus.

The work will be funded by a $500,000 federal grant. Notices have been sent to a list of prospective contractors and posted in local newspapers and the New York State Contract reporter.

Ardsley Village Manager George Calvi noted that the project must allow for the New York State Department of Transportation's option to review the bids over 60 days, and the utility companies' option to relocate telephone poles over 60 days as well. The bid packet is available for a non-refundable $35.

"We estimate the actual construction will commence in late May, early June, with an outside completion date of Aug. 1." Calvi's report said.
