Suspect Nabbed In Fatal Mount Vernon Shooting

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - An arrest has been made in connection to Monday morning’s fatal shooting that left a 24-year-old man dead in Mount Vernon.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday, members of the Mount Vernon Police Department were dispatched to a Washington Street residence, where there were reports of a man who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds after being shot in his building.

Police said that a suspect had been identified, an arrest has been made and more could be following. It was the first homicide in Mount Vernon this year.

According to Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas, upon arrival at the Washington Street residence, officers discovered 24-year-old Trevon Boswell, who was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

“The city mourns the loss of this young man’s life,” Thomas said. “We cannot allow violence to tear apart families and communities.”
