Mount Vernon Man Charged For Driving While Intoxicated

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – A Mount Vernon man was arrested early on Wednesday morning after he was found intoxicated following a routine traffic violation.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., Mount Vernon native Bernard Washington, 29, was arrested in Tarrytown, after he was stopped on I-87 for a traffic violation and was found to be intoxicated by New York State Police troopers.

After being pulled over, Washington was transported and processed in Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was registered at .14 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.

Washington has been charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. He was released to a sober party and is due back in court in Yonkers on Thursday, Sept. 17.
