MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- More than a dozen people were displaced after a row of stores on Mount Vernon’s West Sanford Boulevard went up in flames early Sunday, according to a report on news12.com.

The fire apparently started in the Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant before spreading to neighboring businesses, including a fish market, news12.com reported.

Nearby homes were also damaged, according to the news12.com report.

The exact cause is under investigation, news12.com reported.
