Ruth Katherine Tappert Pritz, 85, Of Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Ruth Katherine Tappert Pritz, of Mount Vernon, formerly of New Rochelle, N.Y., died March 16. She was 85.

Pritz was born in New Rochelle to Margaret Weingart and Gustav A. Tappert, where she lived until moving to the Wartburg Adult Community in Mount Vernon, in 1996.

She attended New Rochelle public schools, graduating from Albert Leonard Senior High School in 1945. A lifelong member of St. Luke's Church and a member of the Luther League, she served on the Altar Committee and participated in other events.

Pritz was the granddaughter of the late Rev. Dr. C. Reinhold Tappert, the former Pastor of St. Luke's Church in New Rochelle.

Pritz is survived by her sons, Michael E. Pritz, Sr. of Orange, Conn. and Stephen W. Pritz (Nancy) of New Rochelle; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; brother, William Tappert (Madeline) of New Rochelle. She was predeceased by her husband, Werner; daughter-in-law Lina Petruccelli Pritz.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 95 Eastchester Rd., New Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. William J. Damrow presiding.
