Carmela 'Carmen' F. Curzio, 93, Longtime Mount Vernon Resident

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Carmela "Carmen" F. Curzio, a longtime resident of Mount Vernon, died on Friday, March 4. She was 93.

Curzio was born in in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

She is survived by her children, Anthony Curzio of Spring Hill, Florida, Elaine Curzio of Peekskill, and Dianne Helwig of Dacula, Georgia; grandchildren Donna Stahl, Anthony Curzio, James Curzio, Kristina Helwig, Chirstopher and David Curzio; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. 

Curzio was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Curzio, and her parents, Dominick and Mary (Pullero) Sanginetti; brothers Francis, Vincent, Nicholas Sanginetti; and sister Marion Gennari.

Visiting hours will be from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, March 7, at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Ave., in Hawthorne. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at Holy Rosary Church, in Hawthorne. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, in New Rochelle.
