The supermarket, in return, has agreed to not lock employees out over the holiday weekend as well.

The labor dispute between the nearly 6,000 grocery store employees have been working without a contract since Nov. 3. The sticking point that is preventing a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is the company’s desire to drastically reduce or cut health benefits.

Stop & Shop has 12 locations in 10 towns in Westchester County, including White Plains, Tarrytown, Ossining, Somers Commons, Port Chester, Mamaroneck, Yonkers, Eastchester, Dobbs Ferry, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon.
