The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Friday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 38-year-old Adalberto Marquez, who has moved to an apartment on Glen Avenue in Mount Vernon.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Marquez as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent and predicate offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Marquez raped and used compulsion to forcibly sexually abuse his 23-year-old victim in September 2008. He was convicted the following year and sentenced to a term of seven years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Mount Vernon City Police Department.
