The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 41-year-old Marcus Long, who has moved to an apartment on South Columbus Avenue in Mount Vernon.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Long a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Long had sexual intercourse and contact with his victim in July 1999. He was arrested by the White Plains City Police Department. He was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse in January the following year and sentenced to between 41 months and four years in state prison. He remains under the jurisdiction of detectives in White Plains.
