Melissa Smikle, 33, of Mount Vernon, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both felonies.
After an investigation conducted jointly by the state Department of Labor and the state police, it is alleged that Smikle unlawfully collected over $6,000 in unemployment benefits between June and September 2012.
