The overnight event will take place beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14 and continuing until Saturday morning at the Mount Vernon High School. There will be a Relay Team meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday to discuss last minute arrangements.
As of Monday afternoon, 31 Mount Vernon teams comprising of 143 participants have raised nearly $15,000 for the American Cancer Society. Top fundraisers include Georgiana McGlinchey and Helen Coleman, who have each raised more than $1,000.
The Amani Cancer Crushers have raised $3,570, more than doubling the amount the second place team – Royster Family and Friends – has raised. The team from the city’s Department of Public Works has raised an even $1,000 so far.
