3 Hudson Valley Companies Announce Around 300 Layoffs Several hundred Hudson Valley workers will lose their jobs as three companies, either close, merge or cutback on production. The companies, all located in Orange County, Frito-Lay and Gen-Pak, both in Middletown, and Amscan in Newburgh, filed WARN Notices with the state that inform them of upcoming layoffs. Frito-Lay said it would lay off 88 workers beginning on Friday, Aug. 30 due to construction projects at the plant. The workers will not be rehired. Jacob Davis was heading south on Howard Boulevard in a 2019 Mazda 3 in the collision with a northbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, around 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. Boater, 53, Dies After Circling Vessel Runs Aground On Raritan Bay, Police Say A 53-year-old man died after his boat ran aground on the Raritan Bay Monday, June 3, authorities said. Kenneth Halvorsen Jr., of Toms River, was found on the vessel that had been moving in a circular pattern in the bay in Sayreville around 1:55 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
