MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – With snow beginning to slowly melt, Mayor Ernest Davis has lifted the state of emergency the city entered Monday.

On Wednesday morning, Davis announced that with the nor’easter come and gone, Mount Vernon could return to its normal operations.

Alternate-side-of-the-street parking will be in effect on Wednesday, and metered parking will again be monitored. Wednesday’s recycling pickup has been suspended, and will resume next week on Feb. 4. Regular sanitation pickup will resume Thursday on the south side and Friday on the north side.

For the first time since snow started trickling down on Monday, Recreation Department and Youth Bureau programming is operational and back on schedule.
