Hot, Dry Weather Bakes Mount Vernon After Storms Push Through Area

After at least two lines of powerful thunderstorms swept across the area on Monday, hot and much less humid air will rule the day on Tuesday with plenty of sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.

Above normal temperatures in the low and mid 90s will heat up much of the region. There will be high pressure building into the region Tuesday night through Wednesday keeping things dry. The mercury will be higher than normal with the mid 90s affecting most of the area.

A sunny Tuesday brings 90-degree temperatures. The day's winds will be variable.

The air cools off sharply overnight under clear skies, dipping to a refreshing 65. 

Wednesday’s sunny outlook turns on the heat. The high will in the low 90s once again. Winds will be calm in the afternoon.

Skies will mostly be clear overnight when the mercury goes back down to 65 and winds will be light and variable.
