Pace Basketball Competes Against Assumption, NE-10 Honors Pace Swimmers

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. --  The Northeast-10 action continued for Pace University's men's and women's basketball teams, and athletes from the men's and women's swim teams were honored with weekly awards.

Senior Jonathan Merceus gained 23 points and 11 rebounds for the team's game against Assumption College.

The men’s basketball fell to Assumption 74-69 in a Northeast-10 conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Senior Jonathan Merceus recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 23 points and 11 rebounds. For more information, click here.

The Lady Setters also fell to its Assumption counterparts, losing 64-55. Shanice Allen led the way with 21 points and four rebounds on 8-for-12 shooting. Shanice Maynard chipped in 10 points and five boards, while Kirsten Dodge totaled 10 points and five rebounds. For more information, click here.

The men's and women's swim teams took a break from the Northeast-10 action, but were awarded with honors. 

Pace University senior Derek Slayton was named the men’s swimming athlete of the week by the Northeast-10 conference for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 26. Slayton won two races against a previous match with Le Moyne when he claimed the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:02.06 before taking the 100 breaststroke with a 58.50 clocking. Pace swimming begins its championship season with the Northeast-10 Conference championships on Thursday, Feb. 6 until Sunday, Feb. 9 on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University
