Beginning July 8, and running through the middle of August, there will be will be soccer, basketball and track and field camps for children as old as 17-years-old.
The soccer clinic will be held in partnership with White Plains-based Backyard Sports. There will be three, two-week sessions for children of all ages at Hutchinson Field. The first session is from July 8 through July 18; the second is from July 22 to Aug. 1 and the last is from Aug. 5 through Aug. 15. The program – which costs $120 per session - will run from Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. each day.
For those who don’t want to take to the soccer field, there will be a track and field clinic on the same dates and at the same time at the Mount Vernon High School. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 can learn the basics of running track before they get to high school.
Lastly, there will be a six-week basketball clinic at the Mount Vernon High School for children between 7 and 17-years-old. The program is designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of basketball from dribbling to passing and shooting. The program will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays between July 8 and Aug. 16. Each week will cost $75.
