Iona College Basketball Teams Host Awareness Week

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The Iona College men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting an "Awareness Week" with four games at the Hynes Center.

A schedule of games is below:

Wednesday, Feb. 12:

Iona MBB vs. Saint Peter's:

Iona College men's basketball has aligned itself with the efforts of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to highlight the awareness platform of Coaches Cure CF.

Last season, head coach Tim Cluess and his staff brought awareness by wearing sweat suits to honor the life-threatening illness for its final six games, including its nationally televised MAAC Championship win over Manhattan and NCAA Championship Second Round appearance vs. Ohio State.

The Iona College alumni family of John and Monica Judge, with sons Chris and Jay, have spearheaded this initiative in honor of their nephew, Alex Tarletsky and his lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.

Friday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 16:

Iona WBB vs. Monmouth & Rider:

In conjunction with the MAAC, Iona, Monmouth and Rider’s women's basketball teams support the efforts of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The Play 4Kay initiative is an opportunity for programs to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
