Mount Vernon's Columbus School Has Parent Information Session

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The English Language Learners/CECS Saturday Family Program at Columbus School welcomes LuLu Bencosme, the Bilingual Outreach and Information Specialist of the Hudson Valley Special Education Parent Center to present a parent information session titled “How Can I Help My Child at Home?”

The parent information session will be April 25 at Columbus Elementary in Mount Vernon.

Topics will include the role of the Hudson Valley Special Education Parent Center; resources and training available at HVSEPC; communication with your child’s school and teacher; routine and consistency; appropriate atmosphere; and the importance of the continuum during the summer months, especially for ELL's children with disabilities.

The presentation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Columbus Elementary School, 455 N. High St., Mount Vernon.
