Mount Vernon Schedules Prekindergarten Registration

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon school district will hold registration for the 2015-16 prekindergarten program beginning Monday, June 1, from 8 a.m.-noon.

Registration for the Mount Vernon prekindergarten program will take place at Longfellow Elementary School.

Registration will take place Monday-Thursday that week at Longfellow Elementary School, 625 S. Fourth Ave.

To register, children will have to be 4 years old on or by Dec. 1, 2015. Parents or guardians should have the following information available when registering a child:

Proof of birth.
Current immunization.
Doctor's stamp result of lead testing.
Proof of residency such as current utility bill or current lease/deed.
Photo identification of guardian.

The 2015-16 prekindergarten program will be held at Graham School, Williams School, Columbus School, Pennington School, Traphagen School and Holmes School.

All pre-K school selections are based on availability.
