Mount Vernon’s Amani Charter School Nears Moving Day

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Amani Public Charter School is nearing moving day on Jan. 5, when it moves into the Edison Building.

Here are some critical dates parents and students should be aware:

Friday, Dec. 19 School canceled in the upper and lower school.

Monday, Jan. 5 School canceled for seventh and eighth grades. Fifth-grade orientation from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sixth-grade orientation from 1:30-3 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 5 Grand opening and ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 First full day of school in the new building. On the first full day of school, Tuesday, Jan. 6, the scholars will take part in the opening day convocation with guest motivational speaker Sean Derrick. 

In addition, the seventh- and eighth-grade classes will move from the first floor of the Edison Building to the second. Those interested in helping with the move on Friday, Dec. 19, should call 668-2553.
