MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Students at Mount Vernon High School participated in the Young Men of Color/Science of Success Program via STEM (science, technology, engineering, math).
According to the College Board's Young Man of Color program, the fastest growing populations in the country are those minority groups with the lowest levels of male educational attainment. If present levels of education and current population trends hold, the United States will see a decline in the educational attainment of the country as a whole, according to the program. The goal of ensuring the future global competitiveness of the U.S. cannot be met without the full participation of our nation's young men of color, according to the program.
