Twelve summits are planned nationwide by the U.S. Department of Education to help local administrators improve their use of modern technology as a teaching tool inside and outside the classroom.

“If we are preparing our children to be college and career ready, integrating technology into daily instruction is a moral imperative. In 2015, technology is no longer an option, it is part of our fiber as a global society.” Gorman said.
More than 1,800 district leaders are expected to attend the regional summits.
“Future Ready is about helping district leaders leverage technology to empower teachers, engage students, and close persistent equity gaps by creating a learning environment where all students have access to the tools and expertise they need to be prepared for the future,” said Richard Culatta, director of the U.S. Education Department’s Office of Educational Technology.
