MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Holmes Elementary School.
The purpose of the meeting is to take action on personnel appointments, resolutions related to ongoing construction and other necessary business that may come before the board, according to a release from the school board.

The Board of Education welcomes public comment at Special Meetings provided the comments are related to items on the agenda, the release said.
Members of the public wishing to address the board must sign up with the District Clerk by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2. They may sign up by phone at (914)-665-5235, email at email@example.com or in person Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
