830 Gramatan Avenue in Mount Vernon was built in 1925 and features Georgian influence, which was adopted from England during the reigns of King George and popular in the American colonies during the 1700s until the beginning of the revolutionary war. While relatively few original Georgian Revival homes still exist today, this home listed by Amy Dmytryshyn of Park Sterling Realty has the best of the old world and the new.

"The quality of the architecture is unmatched in this home," said Dmytryshyn. "Georgian homes are grand and are built very well with huge columns. Interestingly, this house actually has a Spanish tile roof, which isn't as common in this type of home."

The home's over 6,000 sq. ft. of living space includes six bedrooms, five bathrooms and six fireplaces. While many homes built in the early 20th century feature small, divided rooms, 830 Gramatan Avenue was built using an open floor plan, offering an abundance of space.

"The first thing you notice when you walk in the home is the floating staircase, which gives you the whole feel of what this house is about," said Dmytryshyn. "The architecture of this home is really quite amazing as it has very big rooms that flow very well."

830 Gramatan has been completely renovated over the years, maintaining old world charm while featuring more modern upgrades. A recent expansion is the house's 746 sq. ft. deck, designed for lounging, sunning, grilling and dining amidst the property's gardens and towering trees.

The home's 1.2 acres also include a detached outbuilding which features a newly finished, multi-purpose space, a full bath, kitchenette and a heating and cooling system. Perfect for guest accommodations, a studio or private office, the walls, floor and ceilings have been constructed with state-of-the-art soundproofing.

"The current owner of the home is an avid musician, so he turned a room into a music studio which is absolutely beautiful," said Dmytryshyn. "The room is designed for jamming out, without disturbing the neighbors."

Just down the road from downtown Bronxville and close to Metro North, 830 Gramatan Avenue is incredibly accessible. "You have these wonderful city elements of being able to walk everywhere but also the elegance of an estate grounds," said Dmytryshyn.
