Bennett was born Sept. 15, 1923, and served as a Democratic assemblyman for the former 96th District, which covered Poughkeepsie, Beacon and parts of Ulster and Orange counties, from 1983-94, reported the Journal.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary, according to the Journal.
Visiting hours were scheduled for Sunday, March 13, from 2-6 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Roseton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Hudson Valley Honor Flight.
