She was born in Germany to the late Karl and Marie Volkmann. She was a retired food supervisor for Bridgeport Hospital and Park City Hospital for almost 25 years, and was a lifetime member of the Germania Schwaben Club.
She is survived by three children, Linda Shlonsky, Roseann Giordanella and Norman Aanensen; 20 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Einar Aanensen; and two sisters, Sonia Pazinak and Diana Boulton.
Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull, with the Rev. Todd Shipley officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the wishes of the family through the funeral director.
