Monday, April 16

 

Of Time and the River: 10:30 a.m. Linda Russell presents songs of the Hudson River at the JCC on the Hudson. 371 South Broadway, Tarrytown.

 

Third Monday Craft Group: 7 p.m. Artist and crafter Karen Ringen teaches fabric printing to people aged 18 or older. Registration is required. Warner Library, 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

John Paulding Dual Language Program Information Session: 9 a.m. Interested parents will meet in the school library to learn about the dual language program.

 

Wednesday, April 18

 

Show Me The Monday: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Financial consultant Alvin Hall will present a free teen financial program at Warner Library. 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

 

The Who's “Tommy”: 7 p.m. The Tarrytown Music Hall screens “Tommy,” the story of a young boy who becomes a master pinball wizard and the object of a religious cult.13 Main St., Tarrytown.

 

“Defiance” Screening: 7:30 p.m. The JCC on the Hudson screens a movie based on the heroism of the Bielski brothers during World War II. 371 South Broadway, Tarrytown.

 

Sleepy Hollow Zoning Board of Appeals: 8 p.m. The zoning board will discuss several items of note, including a proposed grocery store on College Avenue. Village Hall, 28 Beekman Ave., Sleepy Hollow.

 

Thursday, April 19

 

Sleepy Hollow Jazz Fest: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sleepy Hollow High School hosts a jazz ensemble festival for area high schools in the auditorium. A public concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. 210 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow.

 

Sleepy Hollow-Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce Meeting: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The chamber will meet and host a networking event at Historic Hudson Valley headquarters. 639 Bedford Road, Pocantico Hills.

 

Great Opera Voices: 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Instructor Susan Grunthal presents a six-week course of the great opera composers. Register at 914-631-7734. Warner Library, 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

 

Haiku Class: 4 p.m. Warner Library celebrates National Poetry Month with a program about haikus for grades two through five. 121 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

Guster and Comedian Jeff Garlin Concert: 8 p.m. Guster and Jeff Garlin perform at the Tarrytown Music Hall in a special evening hosted by 107.1 The Peak. 13 Main St., Tarrytown.

 

Friday, April 20

 

Tarrytown Third Friday: 5 p.m. Local businesses and residents will gather on Main Street for the first Third Friday of 2012. Main Street, Tarrytown.
