Gas Station's Cigarettes Wiped Out

Wilton police were investigating a Nov. 15 burglary of the Georgetown Mobil. Evidence shows that unknown people pried open the door to the convenience store at the gas station and stole $300 cash from the register and hundreds of packs of cigarettes, essentially cleaning out the store.

Police were not connecting it to an incident at the Georgetown Shell a few weeks before in which the front door was smashed, but no entry was made and nothing was taken.

Also in the police blotter:

? A resident of Old Kingdom Road in Wilton reported losing a $372 check, which was cashed by the person who found it. The victim believes she last had it at a dentist's office but was unsure and was trying to remember where she may have lost it to help with the police investigation.
