The seminar will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bronxville Public Library. A lending specialist, real estate broker, home inspector and attorney will be among the panelists at the seminar. Leah Caro, the President of Bronxville Real Estate, will host the seminar.

“First time buyers are the most excited and the most apprehensive about the buying process,’’ Caro said. “There are a lot of misconceptions, advice from family and friends, limited knowledge of how it goes or even where to begin. The seminar offers all the right information from the right experts, detailing the process from first step to last.”

Experienced home buyers are also invited to attend the seminar to learn the latest information on the home buying process. The panelists are Phillip Robles, a lending specialist from Citi Bank; Mary Leonard, an Associate Broker from Bronxville Real Estate; home inspector Mark Aakjar and Jennifer Krucher, an attorney.

Caro said the seminar will help potential buyers avoid some common pitfalls. “Many first time homebuyers think they know what they can afford,’’ Caro said. “But they really have no idea. Speaking with a mortgage specialist is essential, and most buyers can learn their spending power with making a significant commitment to a particular lender or the buying process at all. Likewise, many buyers think they know what they want in a house. Working with an expert Buyers’ Agent can help them discern the ‘must haves’ from the ‘like to haves’.’’

Caro said people who have previously purchased homes will find a new landscape. “In the recent past we’ve seen huge changes in the lending arena,’’ she said. “The skill sets of Buyers’ Agents have changed, and there are new environmental concerns and legal requirements that a savvy real estate attorney can navigate.”
