MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - State Assembly Candidate J. Gary Pretlow (D) easily won re-election and will represent the new 89th district when the new lines take effect on Jan. 1.
Pretlow garnered 94 percent of the vote, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections website, easily defeating challenger Rosemarie Jarosz. Jarosz ran on the conservative line.
Pretlow, 63, has served in the State Assembly for 18 years and is seeking a 12th term. Pretlow's only challenger.
The 89th district consists of Mount Vernon and parts of Yonkers.
