SCARSDALE, N.Y. - A Scarsdale High School alumnus has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the nation’s ambassador to India.

Trump official sent 62-year-old Kenneth Juster’s nomination to the United States Senate, and a confirmation hearing could be held soon to formally replace Richard Verma, who left the role in January when Trump’s presidency began.

A partner at the investment firm Warburg Pincus, and a senior partner at the law firm Arnold and Porter, Juster has previously served as the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce from 2001 to 2005. After graduating from Scarsdale High School in 1972, he made his way to law school at Harvard University.

Juster is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Academy of Diplomacy.

According to the Scarsdale Alumni Association , “Juster has been honored, and honored and honored. Seven weeks ago the Consul General of Germany decorated him with the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.”

As the American Ambassador to India, Juster would be the chief diplomatic representative of the nation in India, working out of the U.S. Ambassador’s office in New Delhi.
