Mount Vernon Polls Open At 6 A.M.

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. — Mount Vernon goes to the polls Tuesday to select the next president of the United States while its state senator and state assemblyman face no opposition in the election.

Besides the main ticket of Barack Obama (D) vs. Mitt Romney (R) for president, Mount Vernon will vote for state Sen. Ruth Hassel-Thompson, Democrat, who is running unopposed for a sixth term.

State Assemblyman Gary Pretlow (D) is seeking a 10th term with no Republican challenger.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.
