Mount Vernon Mayor Gives Farewell Address

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Outgoing Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis delivered his farewell address Tuesday night during a special meeting of the Mount Vernon City Council, according to Westchester.News12.

Davis told council members and residents the city still must work to improve education, jobs and lower taxes, the news source said. 

Davis, who lost the Democratic primary in September, has served as mayor for a total of four terms throughout he years, said Westchester.News12.

His challenger, Richard Thomas, who won the November general election, will be sworn in as the new mayor Friday at Mount Vernon High School, added Westchester.News12.
