Mount Vernon Mayor Davis Says Campaign Signs Being Taken

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- It has come to my attention that my campaign signs have been removed from the private property of home owners and, in some instances, home owners have been informed that I am no longer in the race.

Nothing could be further from the truth. As always, we intend to conduct a campaign of the highest caliber, in a fair manner.

I encourage our supporters to do the same. With this in mind, I have notified the Democratic Party of those instances reported to me.

Removing items from private property is not only in poor taste, it is trespassing and theft. Do not let this tactic deter our goal to run a fair campaign and to win the primary race Thursday, Sept. 10.

All of my supporters have identification badges that should be shown, whether you ask to see them or not. If you are a victim of this unsavory type of campaign tactic, please make a complaint to the Democratic Party headquarters at 914-667-7300. We will make every effort to replace your sign expeditiously.
