MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Mount Vernon Mayor Richard That has announced a series of proposed development project for the city that will “transform the economy, create jobs and increase the quality of life.”

On Friday, citing $2.5 billion that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has dedicated in funds for market-rate housing, Thomas announced the proposed projects, which he said have proven attractive to investors and is “boosting the vision of transformative housing.”

“I am proud to share the vision of Governor Andrew Cuomo in promoting developments that change lives, and cities, for good,” Thomas stated. “These developers have brought forth projects that will create jobs, seize new opportunities, and activate our economy.”

“All good business people know it’s about time, location, and team,” Elvis Cordova, an official with the Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency added. “It depends on public-private partnerships, something we are all committed to. We believe in self-determination, spurring innovation, and ushering economic development that is transformational for the people of Mount Vernon.”
