Mount Vernon City Council Invites Residents To Honoring Session

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon City Council invites the public to attend the 2016 Spring Honoring Session which will be held during a regular City Council meeting on Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Twice each year, council members honor individuals and organizations who have made valuable contributions to the Mount Vernon community. 

These are the current honorees: 

  • Danny Bernstein, founder and executive director, Backyard Sports Cares
  • Joseph Cammarosano, economist, professor, and administrator (Fordham University); 
  • Delores Mack, community activist
  • Kevin Moore, director, Young Heroes Program (at Lincoln Elementary School); Founder, MKM Foundation (for civic minded students)
  • Ruth Shire, former president, Friends of the Mount Vernon Public Library.
