Earlier this month, a contingency of Mount Vernon officials, including Mayor Ernest Davis and Council President Yuhanna Edwards endorsed County Executive hopeful Noam Bramson on the steps of city hall.

Reynolds decided to go her own way, supporting Astorino in hid bed for a second term in office.

“I am a proud elected democrat who is endorsing County Executive Rob Astorino because he shares my values of providing for those most in need while keeping taxes as a reasonable level,” she said. “I have seen firsthand the overwhelming support the county executive has provided to our community. He should be supported for re-election, regardless of party affiliation.”

Astorino expressed his gratitude to Reynolds on Monday, agreeing that party affiliation shouldn’t be an issue in the upcoming election.

“The first thing I said after winning the election four years ago was that I would represent Democrats, Republicans and independents alike in the county,” he said. “Westchester families of all backgrounds and political beliefs deserve competently managed government that protects taxpayers while taking care of those most in need.”
