MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - A 52-year-old Yonkers man will be in court next week to answer charges that he raped a 14-year-old female family member in Mount Vernon, police said.
Fitz Carter, 52, will appear in Mount Vernon City Court on Sept. 12. He is charged with first degree rape, a felony.
Carter was arrested on Aug. 30 at 647 S. Sixth Ave. after allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with the girl, law enforcement officials said. Carter is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
