Two Suffer Injuries In Early Morning Mount Vernon Shooting

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – A Mount Vernon shooting early on Tuesday morning left two people in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police confirmed that a series of gunshots rang out at approximately 5 a.m. on East Third Street, in front of Club Universe Restaurant and Lounge, with the pair being struck by bullets.

No suspects have been identified yet, but more information is expected from city officials on Tuesday afternoon. The two victims were taken to Montefiore Hospital for treatment and will make a complete recovery.
