On Wednesday, July 13, detectives from the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit served a search-and-seizure warrant at the home of Justin Goldstein at 1521 Aspen Glen Drive, Hamden.

The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into the possession of child pornography.

State Police detectives initiated the investigation in June after video files of suspected child pornography were downloaded from the Internet account assigned to Goldstein, 33.

Computers and computer-related equipment were seized from Goldstein's residence during the search, state police said. The items were examined on the scene, and files of suspected child pornography were located, state police said.

Goldstein was later located at WTNH and taken into custody, state police said.

Goldstein was charged with illegal possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

Mark Higgins, president and general manager of WTNH-TV, posted the following statement on the station's website: "We are deeply concerned by the allegations. Until the matter is resolved, Justin Goldstein is suspended from his duties at WTNH.”

He was transported to Troop I in Bethany, where he was fingerprinted, photographed and released after posting $200,000 bond.

His court date is July 26 in Meriden Superior Court.

The FBI, Homeland Security Investigations and the Hamden Police Department assisted in the case.
