Pleasantville resident Daniel Derosa, 27, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, while Yonkers native Richard Toscano, 24, was charged with a myriad of offenses, including felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.

According to police, a special detail was conducting surveillance near Overhill Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday when they saw a hand-to-hand sale take place, prompting detectives to arrest the pair.

The detail was arranged based on a confidential tip the department received, Lt. Thomas Altizio said. There appears to be no connection to Scarsdale, other than that the drug deal took place in the village.

“Toscano was charged with possession and sale of what is believed to be Percocet, Adderall, Xanex and several other currently unidentified compounds,” he said. “All of the narcotics will be submitted to the Westchester County Lab for analysis and identification.

Upon further investigation, Toscano’s vehicle - which was impounded - was found to have additional narcotics, controlled substances, marijuana and cash.

Derosa was released on his own recognizance, while Toscano was sent to Westchester County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Both are due back in court on April 9.
