Rye Woman Charged With Leaving Baby In Hot Car In Port Chester

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- A Rye woman was arrested on Wednesday after leaving her infant in a hot car in Port Chester, according to a report by LoHud.com.

The 5-month-old girl, believed to be left in the car for around 20 minutes, was unharmed, but may have suffered some dehydration, and her 32-year-old mother Carrie McKenzie, was released after posting bail, according to the report.

The incident occurred at the Kohl's Route 1 in Port Chester at approximately 2:30 p.m., the report said.

What an idiot. Some people should not be allowed to have children. Thank you for publishing this woman's name. She deserves to have the world know what a bad parent she is.

I couldn't agree with you more, although I would have taken it a step further and posted her photo as well. Given all the media coverage regarding infant deaths due to this, how can anyone leave a five month old alone in a car, no matter what the weather. As a PICU RN who sees the results of idiots like this, it enrages me.
