MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – A 21-year-old Mount Vernon woman was killed in Harlem on Saturday after she was struck and possibly dragged by a livery cab, the New York Post reported Sunday.
Taja Johnson was apparently arguing with someone in a vehicle around 4:30 a.m. on 133rd Street near 8th Avenue, the report said. She either got out of her car or was thrown out by the person she was riding with, police sources reportedly told the Post.
The person behind the wheel hit the gas and Johnson was flung into the road, the report said. A livery cab, driven reportedly by an unlicensed driver, hit her and may have dragged her, the Post said.
After initially leaving the scene, the cab driver turned himself in to police on Sunday, according to the report.
