The incident took place around 10 a.m. at 158 Steven Avenue when police responded to reports of a man acting erratically in the front yard with a knife, News 12 Westchester reported.
The 32-year-old man ran into the house when police arrived. When responders entered the home, the man reportedly lunged at them with the knife and a pair of scissors. Police unsuccessfully attempted to subdue the man with tasers, but ultimately had to resort to using firearms, News 12 Westchester said.
The man is currently at Jacobi Medical Center, but his condition is unknown, News 12 Westchester said.
