Police Question Person Of Interest In Mount Vernon Slaying

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Mount Vernon Police have said they are questioning a "person of interest" in connection to the death of 85-year-old Emma Gruber, according to News 12 Westchester.com.

Police officials believe Gruber was murdered after walking in on burglars at her home on Sixth Avenue.

Gruber's grandson alerted the police that she was missing on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Her body was found in her basement on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Officials believe the burglars stole her water meter to resell the copper inside the device, News 12 Westchester reported.
